Terms
Terms of Use
The terms on which the Tail Buddy service — the tail-buddy.pet website, the mobile app and the Telegram bot — may be used.
Updated: 2026-10-06
1. General
1.1. The owner of the Tail Buddy service (the Operator) offers internet users (the User) the Tail Buddy service — the tail-buddy.pet website, the Tail Buddy mobile app and the service's Telegram bot (the Service) — on the terms of this agreement (the Terms). 1.2. By registering or starting to use the Service, the User accepts the Terms in full. A User who does not accept them may not use the Service. 1.3. The Operator may change the Terms. A new version applies from its publication at tail-buddy.pet/terms unless it says otherwise; the date of the update is shown at the top. Users are told about significant changes by email or in the Service. 1.4. The User's personal data is processed under the Privacy Policy (tail-buddy.pet/privacy), to which the User consents separately. 1.5. The Russian version of the Terms prevails.
2. What the Service provides
2.1. The Service lets the User keep pet profiles and their vet passport — vaccinations, parasite treatments, vet visits, tests and imaging, diagnoses, prescriptions; store files and documents with them; receive reminders; print or export the passport; and bind a QR code or an NFC tag with a public card for reaching the owner. 2.2. All current features of the Service, their development and new features are covered by the Terms. 2.3. The Service is free. Storage is limited: on the free plan, no more than 10 MB per file and 50 MB per account. Any paid features will have their terms published separately.
3. The account
3.1. To use the Service, the User creates an account and confirms an email address. One address holds one account. 3.2. The User gives true details and keeps the password safe. Everything done under the account is deemed done by the User until they report unauthorised access to the Operator. 3.3. A User who suspects someone else used their account should change the password, end the other sessions in the settings, and write to privacy@tail-buddy.pet. 3.4. The User may delete the account at any time in the account settings. Deletion is irreversible: all pets, records, reminders and files go with the account at once. 3.5. The Service may be used by persons aged 14 and over; under 18, with the consent of a legal representative.
4. The User's data and files
4.1. Pet details, records, files and photos the User places in the Service (Content) belong to the User. The Operator acquires no rights in them. 4.2. The User allows the Operator to store, copy and process Content as far as the Service needs to work: show it to the User on several devices, build a PDF, send a reminder, show the public card. 4.3. The User is responsible for having the right to place Content and for Content not breaking the law or anyone's rights. A User who places another person's details — for example, their phone on the public card — confirms that person has agreed to it. 4.4. The Operator is not obliged to review Content but may remove Content that breaks the law or the Terms. 4.5. Deleted records and files cannot be restored; the Service asks for confirmation first. The User keeps copies of important documents themselves; the Service offers a PDF export of the passport and a backup in the mobile app.
5. The pet's public card
5.1. If the User binds a QR code or an NFC tag to a pet, anyone who scans it sees the pet's public card and the owner's contacts given in the account. The User understands this and decides which details to fill in. 5.2. The User may unbind the tag or issue a new code at any time; the old one then stops opening the card. 5.3. A tag helps a finder reach the owner, but does not guarantee that a lost animal will be found or returned.
6. What the Service is not
6.1. The Service is a tool for keeping records and reminders. It provides no veterinary services, makes no diagnoses and gives no medical advice. Decisions about treatment, vaccination and parasite control are made with a veterinarian. 6.2. Reminders arrive by Telegram, if linked, and as the mobile app's notifications. Delivery depends on Telegram and on the User's settings and device, so the Operator does not guarantee that every reminder arrives on time. The User should not rely on the Service's reminders alone where the animal's health depends on it.
7. What is not allowed
7.1. Impersonating another person, or giving someone's contacts without their consent. 7.2. Placing Content that breaks the law or anyone's rights, or malicious files. 7.3. Trying to reach other users' accounts and data, guessing tag codes, or working around the Service's limits. 7.4. Disrupting the Service: excessive load, automated scraping, interfering with the servers. 7.5. Using the Service to send advertising or other messages the recipients did not ask for.
8. Limitation of liability
8.1. The Service is provided “as is”. The Operator works to keep it running without interruptions and fixes errors it finds, but does not guarantee that the Service meets the User's expectations or runs without failures. 8.2. The Operator is not liable for the consequences of decisions taken on the basis of information in the Service, for reminders not received, or for losses caused by the Service being unavailable, unless the law provides otherwise. 8.3. The Operator is not liable for Content the User places, or for the actions of third parties who see the public card. 8.4. The Operator may restrict or end a User's access for breaching the Terms, notifying the User first unless the breach calls for immediate action.
9. Rights in the Service
9.1. The software, design, texts and other parts of the Service, except Users' Content, belong to the Operator or are used by it lawfully. 9.2. The User may use them only within the Service's features; copying, modifying or distributing them otherwise requires the Operator's permission.
10. Final provisions
10.1. The Terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation. Disputes are settled by negotiation and, failing that, as the laws of the Russian Federation provide. 10.2. If any provision of the Terms is found invalid, the rest remain in force. 10.3. The Operator's inaction on a breach does not take away its right to act later. 10.4. Questions about the Terms go to privacy@tail-buddy.pet.
